Angela Person West is a proud 1993 graduate of Joe T. Robinson High School who grew up in the WLR Pinnacle Valley area. Raised as the daughter of a career Army veteran and career educator, Angela learned early on the values of service, dedication, and the importance of education. Her strong family foundation, including her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Grundy, instilled in her the belief that she could "go anywhere, do anything, and had a voice."
Angela is a devoted mother of two accomplished children: a 31-year-old son currently serving in the Army and stationed in Hawaii, and a 27-year-old daughter residing in Texas—both proud North Little Rock Charging Wildcats alumni. As a sister to three siblings and "Super Auntie" to five nieces, two nephews, and one precious great-niece, family remains at the center of Angela's life.
She is an active member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in North Little Rock, where her faith guides her commitment to serving others and her community.
Since 2020, Angela has served with distinction on the North Little Rock School District Board of Education, where she has championed initiatives that directly support students and families:
Angela's decision to run for Arkansas State Representative District 72 is driven by her deep passion for community and public service:
"I am ready to bring fresh ideas and new perspectives to the capital with grace and tenacity while keeping my finger on the pulse of my community. I firmly believe our next generation needs our time, attention, direction, and to know we care!"
With the current District 72 Representative being term-limited, Angela sees this as an opportune time to shift her focus to state-level service where she can make an even greater impact for Arkansas families.
Angela's campaign centers on three critical areas that affect every Arkansas family:
Leveraging her experience on the North Little Rock School District Board of Education to advocate for Arkansas students and educators at the state level. Angela understands firsthand the challenges facing our schools and will fight for adequate funding, teacher support, and student success.
Addressing critical needs in community wellness and access to care. Angela recognizes that mental health is as important as physical health and will work to expand access to quality healthcare services for all Arkansans.
Providing leadership and assistance to those who have served our community and country. As the daughter of a career Army veteran and mother of a current service member, Angela understands the unique needs of our veterans and seniors and will ensure they receive the respect and support they deserve.
"I have a passion and a heart for community and public service. Due to the fact that the District 72 Representative is term-limited, I feel now is a good time to shift my focus to the State of Arkansas. I would like to thank and pay homage to Sen. Jamie Scott and Rep. Steele for your service in District 72.
I humbly ask you stand with me and lend your time and support to assist me in my efforts as the next House Representative for District 72!"
